In our recent virtual clinics, we have heard from numerous rider students who are hungry for knowledge about their own nervous system in interaction with their equine partner. Having spent the better part of three decades working as a clinical neuroscientist and board certified clinical neuropsychologist studying human brain functioning and seeing human patients in combination with Martin Black’s lifetime of empirical observation teaching students and observing people horseback, We can certainly address these issues Therefore, we have decided to add human brain related thought, sensations, perceptions, reactions. actions, emotions, behaviors, trauma, etc to our presentations to help people become aware of their own neurochemical/emotional/psychological states and its impact on their horsemanship.
